Early in its history Maxia Zeta was mainly inhabited by a race called Zaitans. Their above average mental and physical capabilitiescaused them to excel as a race.
But then civil war arose and the Zaitans were all but wiped out. To rebuild their previously abundant population, they altered their own DNA to have a faster reproduction rate. But this wasn't enough. To ensure that they could never be decimated again, the Zaitans began colonizing other worlds. Afraid to let any oppurtunity pass, the Zaitans colonized every world they came accross, including those that were inhabited. Inevitably, this led to war with the Mid-Rim Alliance and the Coalition of Core-Worlds.
After only 14 months of fighting, all sides came to an agreement that was later called the treaty of Amar. In this treaty, the worlds of the Zaitans, the Mid-Rim Alliance, and the Coalition of Core-Worlds came together as the Mid-Gallactic Protectorate. Realizing that it was their own ambitions and paranoia that caused the war, the Zaitans agreed to take on a larger role than most in this protectorate.Under the terms of the treaty, the Zaitans would provide the soldiers for the entire combined fleets of the protectorate. While each world would still have its own defense fleet, the Zaitans would be responsible to provide the warriors for any offensive engagement of the protectorate.
Currently, the Zaitans are still living up to their agreement by aiding the Mid-Gallactic Protectorate in its war with the Karth Empire.
Planets[]
In addition to their homeworld, the Zaitans own very few planets. In the treaty of Amar, they were forced to give back what they had taken. This still left them with a few colony worlds, but the only other world of significance was Pahk.
Pahk was one of the first planets the Zaians took in their campaign. As such, it is currently the most populated Zaitan planet, second only to the homeworld.
Pahk is currently home to the Zaitan shipyard facilities. And is the second most valuable planet to the Zaitans.
